a website…?

May 23, 2009

Recently, I’m trying to build a website which will be used as my portfolio. I have been writing a document containing what will be on my website.

As far as my friend told me, I need to buy domain, server, web template, etc etc (!!! wow too many things to do!)

It is definitely surprising how many things I have to prepare in order to make a good website that I can use professionally rather than for fun :P

Two days ago, it was raining in Vancouver.
Well, while it was raining, I did photo-shooting. I worked with Joshua Garcia who is a model / actor in Vancouver. I have worked with him before and he wanted to update his portfolio. Since I was hoping to update my portfolio, we decided to meet on Tuesday to do some headshots / portraits. However, We found out it was raining. Still, Joe (One of my classmates from Vancouver Film School, and Josh’s manager) wanted to do it anyways so we travelled around his place then we went to Queen Elizabeth Park. I remember I went there last time for my friend’s wedding. Anyways, I was kind of wondered how those pictures would turn out. Today, I edited most of them and as far as I can tell, it looks better than I thought!

Glad I can share some with you guys :)

thought maybe I can share one of my favourite photos when I did shooting for Recitalday haha.

I was able to get this lovely looking picture with Nikon D2Hs + 50mm f/1.8

This is one of my on going projects and I’m really looking forward to work with Recitalday. I see a lot of potentials with this company! :)

I will be updating a lot of news related with this project!

Georgia St & Granville St.
Took this photo downtown. I saw a huge wall and I thought it would make a great shot of me.

I just realized that even though I love to take photo, I was never able to get a good shot of me. (Well, if I had AF lens like 35mm or 20mm, then I could’ve I guess). I’m actually looking forward to replace my old 50mm f/1.4 MF lens to AF 50mm f/1.8. It actually gave me great result when I used it for recitalday photography

Two days ago, I worked with a company called Recitalday for photo shooting.

I did some shots with children with their instruments.

There will be a website ready soon and my images will be all there with full credit. (How cool is that!!)

Meanwhile, if you want to see them, check out my flickr  (click here)

I really loved working with those kids!!~ :)

Two days ago, after I came back to home, I uploaded all the images I took. Well…I really thought I uploaded all of them so I deleted every images on my CF memory card.

After 5 minutes later, as I was editing them, I found that the numbering were weird. It started from DSC_001, 002, 003,004 ~ 088, 089, 090….and then 285, 286, 287…and done

This means that I couldn’t find pictures from 090 to 285!!! LOL

Because those were event pictures, I really needed them. It took about 2 hours to figure out that I can save them again although I deleted them..!

I found the program on the internet (SLRclub, one of the biggest DSLR website).

It took about 3~4 hours to revive all the images and it was really impressive. The interesting thing was that I even found out the pictures taken 3 years ago. This means that I found the previous CF Card owner’s pictures. (WOW)

Anyways, I’m really glad I found all of them again.

Finally Thursday!!!! my birthday!!!!

I met my friend from Victoria and we went for photo shooting in Downtown, UBC, and Richmond. It was quite fun when we went to the Airport. Never been to the other side of Vancovuer Airport and it was really fun (there are two parks! who knew!~ +_+)

Anyways, I meet my girlfriend and it was her last day of School. We went to Broadway Camera shop to buy my gift but they didn’t have it
We went to Futureshop and the guy didn’t even know what I was looking for…tze tze

Later on, I went to Lens & Shutter. Great place, they were going to close at 6:00 PM and I arrived there around 5:55PM.

By the way, I forgot to mention what I was going to get.
I asked my girlfriend to buy me Nikon SU-800 wireless commander!!!
Well, technically, I paid $200 and she paid the rest :D (Love you)

Oh well, Lens & Shutter made my day after all.

Now I have to figure out the place where I can buy CR123 battery. Can’t wait to test this unit with my SB-800 +_+

I really think that having this SU-800 will really change my photography style.

Now it’s 3:40 AM, April 24th 2009. Adious my birthday haha see you next year
